History of the department
Ramsaday College is an old college of Amta, Howrah. It was established in 1946. The Department of Environmental Studies started its journey in this college from 2005 in the Under Graduate Section of Calcutta University (1+1+1) system. Now in CBCS system it is a compulsory subject in Semister II as AECC 2.
Also there was a Study Center of Post Graduate Section under Vidyasagar University ( Distance Education).
