ABOUT US
A. History of the Department :
The Zoology Department was established in the year 2003. Initially the department had capacity of 15 general students and Late Mr. Debmalya Biswas was only faculty of the department. Later on honours course was introduced from 2007-2008 with an intake of 10 students. At present the department has intake capacity of 55 students. Presently our department has 5 faculty members consisting of 1 Assistant Professor and 4 State Aided College Teachers.
B. Seminar organized :
1. UGC sponsored National Level Seminar on "Choosing our gene, changing our future"- was organized by the Department of Zoology in collaboration with Institute of Genetic Engineering, Madhyamgram, Badu, in the year 2012.

1. Awareness Camp on Vector Borne Diseases was organized in ....
2. UGC sponsored 3 day Workshop on "Genetic methods and technologies" - was organized by the Department of Zoology in collaboration with Institute of Genetic Engineering, Madhyamgram, Badu, 15-17th February, 2012
3. One day seminar cum workshop on "INDUCED BREEDING OF INLAND FISHES: TECHNOLOGY AND THE ROLE OF ENDOCRINE GLANDS" - organized by the Department of Zoology in collaboration with IQAC, Ramsaday College, on 23rd September 2022. Inaugural Session by Mr. Subrato Ghosh Fishery Extension Officer, Directorate of Fisheries, Govt. of West Bengal.
